A lot of people tend to despise Valentine’s Day .. and this makes me sad. Why? Because Valentine’s Day is not just for significant others. Love is one of the greatest gifts that we can give and receive in this world, and I think that each one of us have a person out there who loves us and we love them. Your mom, grandma, sister, cousin, aunt, uncle, dad, grandpa … whether it’s a family member, a significant other, or just your very best friend, we all have a reason to celebrate love if we aren’t blind to it. And if none of those fall into place for you, there’s always Jesus who shares the best love of all! Don’t be sad or depressed this V-Day .. instead, take a close look at those around you and I’ll bet you find a special reason to celebrate. 🙂
With that said, today I wanted to share my first Valentine’s look of the season because it’s officially February, and the month of all things pink and red is pulling on my heart strings. Obviously, the colors of this month is another reason why I love Valentine’s Day! This outfit is one that I literally threw together in less than five minutes. It’s perfect for the working girls who will be getting off work late on Valentine’s Day and then have to rush home to change before dinner with your man or with your galentines. The best thing about this look is that it’s one of those effortless outfits where you can just throw your hair up and freshen up your lipstick and then you are ready to go for the night. And since it’s a super easy and quick look, you’ll even make it to dinner on time – say whaaat!
Pink Lily Boutique dress | Nasty Gal otk velvet boots | Spoiled Rotten Boutique necklace (bought locally – similar HERE) | Daniel Wellington watch | BaubleBar chain link bracelet (I’ve been wearing this daily!) | Tory Burch cuff – similar | David Yurman cuff | kate spade ‘mrs’ necklace | lips
If you have ever seen me trying to pick out an outfit, you know that I love to find sassy styles because I feel like they pretty much match my personality. I try to contain the sassiness most of the time, but sometimes after awhile, it just comes out — ask my family or my close friends, lol. This hot pink color with my thigh high boots definitely amps up the sass, and I ain’t complaining – neither is Teej since he’ll be the first to say that he likes seeing me in color!
I’ve been really into bright colors lately because I just think they can be challenging (yet fun) to mix and match, plus they are getting me excited for spring! I’m all for the edgy, b&w chic looks, but every once in awhile, it’s good to embrace your inner girly girl (especially this time of year)! V-day is the perfect excuse to wear your bold colors in your closet and get all dolled up. A fancy dinner – whether it be with your Valentine or your Galentines – should be celebrated in style!
Don’t forget to get the special ladies in your life some flowers or a thoughtful gift this Valentine’s Day – it’s pretty typical to remember your significant other (at least I hope our fellas haven’t forgotten about us, ladies!) but our sweet mamas, grandmas & sisters have put up with a lot from us and they continue to give us all of their love no matter what! Make their day special, too. 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by, beautiful!! I have some really fun giveaways coming up so check back soon!
