I’ve never been happier to see a hump day y’all! How has your week been? Hopefully better than mine has been, shew! We’re only half way through the week and I’m already mentally and physically exhausted. I don’t want to get on here and seem like I’m just venting to y’all, but then again, I feel like you all are a lot of my friends, so I feel like it’s okay to do that every once in awhile haha.
It’s just been one of those weeks! Just to fill you in on #RealLife real quick without giving away too many details … earlier in the week, Teej and I found that someone had tried to take major advantage of us and hacked into our online banking. I can imagine that this happens way too often to people, unfortunately, but it’s one of those things that you don’t really know what it feels like until it happens to you. If you have ever had anything stolen from you that you work your butt off for (and if you know Teej and I, we are CONSTANTLY working) … then you know how terrible it feels. Unfortunately though, we know that life isn’t always fair, there are good and bad people in this world, and things like this are going to happen. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches, ya know?? Although, I have to say that I’ve had about all the ‘rolling’ I can handle this week, lol.
All that being said, if this person just so happens to stumble upon this post, just know that if you really ever needed money, all you would have to do is ask us for help. Our family and friends can agree that we are very giving and generous people. But going forward, I’ll just be praying for you because you clearly need the prayers just as much as we do right now.
I’m not going to lie .. yesterday, I was so upset all day and was being so negative (which I hate) over the circumstances we were in, however, I knew that I could let something like this ruin my entire week, which in turn would put me behind in work, lead me to having a bad attitude, etc. But then what do I get out of that??? Literally nothing. Satan would win. And that ain’t happening!!
A lot of times when I have a few series of unfortunate events in my life, I honestly have a moment of doubt – about everything – and sometimes even feel like giving up. I’m sure we’ve all been there! But, I’ve always found that the quicker that we can forgive, move on, get back on track, etc. the more successful we will be. I ALWAYS almost let things get to me in a big way, and then it’s like a switch flips in my mind and I use that power and adrenaline to come out stronger with more drive than ever before. There have been a few things happening over the past few weeks in my life (I’ll share the rest in a later post) that have given me this exact drive. The exact feeling. I love this quote … “Every brick they try to throw at you … use it to stand on.” I, of course, don’t know your situation or the answer to every problem, but I promise that having this mentality everyday will help you to become the person you want to be.
So … now that you’re caught up on the major unfortunate event of my week, I want to move on and focus on the positives! It’s SPRING TIME, the flowers are blooming, the weather is warm, my family is healthy (which is enough to be thankful for in itself), and Easter is coming! Easter is one of my all-time favorite holidays because we get to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Because of the Easter season, we are blessed with God’s grace everyday, and that also allows us to give grace to the people who wrong us as well.

I am totally obsessed with this new sundress from STRUT! Every girl needs a good sundress in her life that she can dress up or down. This is mine! The subtle blue/white stripes create such a soft and sweet spring vibe for all of those upcoming weddings, bridal showers and graduations. I actually really love this dress for Easter! I may end up rewearing this one on Sunday morning just because I don’t have a particular dress in mind that I want to wear for Easter.
There are two special features about this dress that I absolutely love. Well, actually three.
1. I love the high-low hem. It’s a very subtle high-low hem with a ruffle detailing, which gives off such a sweet, romantic, feminine vibe.
2. I also love love love that the entire dress has a lining on the inside. This is something that is SO important to me because I absolutely despise wearing a slip under dresses lol. I’ve always hated it, and that’s just something I don’t think that I’ll ever be okay with. I know that they are necessary, but I just don’t like them. So, PTL for the lining in this dress!
3. I kinda slipped #3 in last minute, buuuut … the price. Ya gotta love that price. Of course I love some luxury pieces, and I do have a few higher price point items in my closet, however, I think that it is really important to focus on a good mix of low-end and high-end. My motto is always “buy low and high”. I typically will buy all mostly lower-end clothes (unless it’s a classic piece that will be on-trend for many years) and then I will save my high-end choices for shoes, handbags, other accessories.
With all of that said, STRUT is a great place to find your affordably priced, on-trend items of clothing! Check them out — especially if you are still in need of an Easter dress. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today and listening to me vent for a second – y’all are seriously the best! Love love love ya!
