Happy Women’s Day to all my favorite babes out there!!
On this day, I want to share a special letter to each of you ladies reading this right now. I hope you’ll read it all the way through and enjoy it – xo.
To my LNL Babes,
To be honest, I sat down to write an entirely different blog post today – not related to this topic at all. But this morning after reading my devotion, I couldn’t get this letter off of my mind. God was telling me to write this and share it with you all for some reason. I pray that it blesses at least one of you in a special way!
I wrote this letter because I feel that in this crazy world, it’s so easy for us (as humans) to compare ourselves to other women, to kick others when they’re down instead of lifting them up, to feel like we’re not enough, to put ourselves down because we feel ugly, to tell ourselves that we’re not worthy, or to even find joy in someone else’s downfall so that our own light may shine brighter. We are all human, and we’d all be liars if we said that we didn’t experience one of these feelings at some point in our lives.
When you start to feel these things, I want you to remember that no one ever has it all together 24/7, and I can’t stress that enough! Even though simple things like Instagram make you believe that a person’s life is perfect every day, I promise that it’s not. Take it from me. Everyone tends to share the pretty parts of their lives on social media because it’s not always easy showing the difficult parts. When in reality, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US is going through or has been through some type of difficult struggle. I love following along with the perfect-feeling Insta feeds, blogs, & celebrity pages as much as the next person, but it’s so important to remember that there is just another normal human being behind that computer screen, who has also experienced many of the same struggles you and I have. It’s not always easy being a woman with these worldly struggles that we all go through, but that’s why we must stick together and support each other every chance we get.
That being said, I want to remind you all of a few things:
YOU are worthy. YOU are so beautiful inside and out. YOU are enough, and don’t ever let anyone try to make you think otherwise. YOU are powerful! YOU can do anything you set your mind to. Don’t let anyone stop you from chasing your dreams. God loves YOU, and He is your line leader. Don’t worry about the opinions of others. Keep moving forward and following HIS plan for your life. He has so many amazing plans for us, if we just choose to let Him lead.
YOU are making an impact in someone else’s life, whether you know it yet or not. YOUR SMILE can turn someone’s whole day around. YOUR SUPPORT to a friend will not only impact their life, but also your own. There is no amount of support that you can give to a friend that will EVER put out your own light. There’s plenty of spotlight to go around, and it’s okay if it’s not always on you. Be happy for other women and lift them up any chance you get! I promise your own life will begin to change for the better when you genuinely care for, support and encourage others along the way.
To wrap this up, I want to share some encouragement with all of you …
Be the girl who tells other women they’re beautiful. Be the girl who will celebrate your friends successes as your own. Be the girl who tells someone when they have lipstick on their teeth. Be the girl who can keep a secret. Be the girl who will be 100% honest, even when the truth is hard. Be the girl who is loyal and has others’ backs. Be the girl who will defend other women and cry with them when they need you to.
Always know your worth and never settle! Demand respect for yourself and for others – even when it’s not the ‘cool’ thing to do. Never stop believing in YOU – if you can dream it, you can achieve it! With hard work, determination, and Jesus, you can live out any dream that you wish to come true. Take the leap of faith and put it into action!
Let’s all agree to encourage each other, support each other, love each other and lift each other up every single day. This world is far too cruel to be divided – we are much stronger together!
I’m here for you girls, and I so appreciate you being here for me! Babes supporting babes – I’m all in!
Love love love y’all!
xo, P
For the days when you need a little extra love and motivation … 😉
