Sometimes it’s fun to break the rules … Right??
I’m talking about the rules of fashion. (Or, should I say, what used to be the rules.) I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “No wearing white after Labor Day.” Well, in today’s fashion world, wearing white after Labor Day actually sets you apart as being a fashionista who is totally on-trend.
**Disclaimer: Sorry for the late post today ladies! I’ve gotten that horrid stomach bug that has affected almost everyone in my family & I’ve tried all day to muster up enough energy to sit up long enough to write this for y’all. My apologies, but I hope you enjoy!! 🙂

The breaking of the ‘white after Labor Day’ rule really took off big-time for the first time last year. And I’ll be completely honest. I had a hard time with it at first. I had grown up my whole life just knowing that it was SUCH a fashion-crime to wear any sort of white/ivory pants, skirts, shorts, dresses or shoes after Labor Day. However, after I tried this new trend for myself, I actually really loved it. I took a long, hard look at myself because I have never been the type to not want to take a risk when it comes to my personal style. I am always looking for fun ways to try something new with my ootd’s, so I said … why not give it a try!
I have always been a huge fan of winter white coats, furs, etc., and once I actually gave this new style a chance, I fell in love even more. I had been missing out on all the fun for months before I became a rule-breaker. If you are feeling the same way that I was, I encourage you to try out this style at least once to see if it fits into your personal style. I think there’s a good chance that you may actually love it, just like I did! All in all, I learned one big lesson through taking this risk the first time – ya can’t knock it ’til ya try it.
I kept this look very monochromatic and angelic (and I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t save this #ootd for the day of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – hence the ‘angel’ references 😉 ). I’ve posted these otk / thigh-high boots before (HERE), and they are definitely one of my fave pairs of boots that I’ve gotten recently. I decided to pair them with this all-white look and accent it with a silver fur vest (similar here) to tie in and complete the look. Also, these baubles from Bauble Bar?? In love. I wear these all the time because they match just about everything! I love THESE earrings too for an outfit that needs a pop of color. They are on my Christmas wishlist!
I hope y’all had a great start to your week and enjoy finishing this day off with some fabulous runway looks … anyone else tuning in for the VS fashion show tonight?! (Cue the “Ugh can I be them?” tweets from every girl tonight. 😉 ) My absolute favorite angel is Candace Swanepoel (like, I wanna be her in my next life lol!), but she is not in this year’s show because of the recent birth of her adorable baby boy! Can’t say I blame her. 🙂 I’m sure she’ll enjoy watching while she gets lots of sweet baby kisses!
Have a great night, beautiful ladies!
