Happy Tuesday, fashionistas! Today, I have something really special in store here on love ‘n’ labels! One of my friends, Willow Mae, is here as a guest blogger to share all about the best of the best TWEEN fashion trends. If you know me, you know that I have a special place in my heart for babies, kids, tweens, all of the above, and I’ve gotten some inquiries in the past about my favorite places to shop trendy styles for kids and tweens. Well, since I don’t have children of my own yet, I decided that I could best help you all by turning to my favorite fashionista mini-me, Willow Mae.
Fun Fact:
I met Willow (& her twin brother, Walker) at their 5th birthday party (and actually, I was ‘Barbie’ that day for Willow’s Barbie birthday party 😉 ). Then, I babysat the twins for a few years after that. Over the years, I’ve grown to love these kiddos more and more with every day passing, and I truly feel like they are my little sister and brother. I can’t thank their parents enough for sharing them with me (aaand my husband since Teej has now fallen in love with W&W as well).
If there is one mini-me in the world that I could narrow down to having my same fashionista style, it would be little Miss Willow Mae! She is such a beautiful girl inside and out, and is truly the definition of a trendsetter amongst her age group. I hope that you enjoy this post and find it very helpful and inspiring for all of the little fashionistas in your life! Without further ado, I’m so happy to turn you over to the fashion world of Willow Mae:
Hi everyone! I’m Willow Mae, and I’m 11 years old {almost 12} and I love keeping up with LNL so much! Peyton’s style seems in line with what I love too, but sometimes I can’t seem to find it in my size! Peyton recently asked me if I would be interested in doing a blog post here with tween style in mind! That was a no brainer … of course I would want to do anything with Peyton!
It took me a long time to decide where my favorite places are to shop, and I wanted my outfits to be perfect for this project. I often look online, and I send my mom links of outfits that I like {most of the time she says no, but sometimes I get a yes}. My favorite stores to shop at online would have to be:
Recently we took a trip to the beach, and I thought ‘what better place to take pictures than the beautiful Destin sand?’ … It was below the usual temperature in Destin, but we all know what a girl will do for fashion. 😉 I brought a couple of clothing options and even finalized one while at the beach!!!
My first outfit I chose has a blue top with a lace overlay, and the bottom is floral! This is a maxi dress with cut out details on the side and on the back. I don’t know about you guys, but I am seeing florals everywhere this summer. I got the dress online HERE at www.
My second outfit was a little tricky because I started out in a sleeveless top, but after I realized it was only 50 degrees outside, I thought a thin flannel would go perfect with it to stay warm! The outfit detail for this choice was a pink and teal flannel shirt from Gap Kids! I tied the flannel in two side knots to give it some extra flair. I got my white tank top from Dillards, but you can get a simple white tank almost anywhere! My favorite part of this outfit is this teal, floor-length skirt with lace details from www.joyfolie.com. I hope you can see my earrings that are from Target (love them)! Tassels are so in right now.
Last but not least, who doesn’t like the perfect bikini?! I haven’t had a chance to get much sun yet this year especially in freezing Destin, but I braved the cold to wear this cute suit! This bikini is an Ella Moss bikini, but I ordered it from Zappos. Off the shoulder styles are everywhere this year, and so is lace!
I have to tell you about my earrings from Claire’s. They are like little cotton balls – so fun!! I have to warn you that I didn’t swim in them. I was too worried they would drag me under, and I would drown. Haha! Also, I can’t forget about my aviator sunglasses from Old Navy. If you are ever looking for cheap sunglasses (because we all know how easy it is to mess them up), Old Navy is a good option.
I’d like to take this time to thank Peyton for giving me the chance to be apart of her blog. I know how much we all enjoy reading about Peyton’s fashion tips, and I hope I was able to give the tweens out there some good advice too! I really appreciate all of you for reading this blog, and I hope to do it again sometime! You can find me on Instagram with @willowmae to see more of my everyday style!
