Calling all Gossip Girl lovers (me, me, me!).
Every lady deserves to have a Blair Waldorf moment even if they don’t strut around in Barneys every day or live on the Upper East Side. Am I right or am I right???
Truth be known, I am watching GG for the second time right now because I’ve been wanting to rewatch the series ever since I found out who ‘Gossip Girl’ was. Ya know, just to see if I could catch some of the hints + it’s like SATC … can you ever really watch it too many times? So far, I see some things that give away who GG is, but there are some parts that I’m just like, uhhhh that doesn’t make sense people.
Anyways, I found this fun Free People minidress on sale for y’all so keep reading to find out all the deets 😉 (+ I threw in a little #tbt at the end of this post that is something fun and different on LNL.)
DETAILS: Free People minidress (found it on sale at Macy’s for you guys – I’m wearing it in ivory!) | similar tights | Marc Fisher lace-up heels | similar Tory Burch crossbody (the style I’m wearing is sold out) | Janice Ann’s Fashions earrings (local boutique in Knoxville – similar HERE) | Kate Spade mrs. necklace | Pandora ring
I styled this flare-sleeve retro mini as a high-fashion, preppy, NYC private school girl look. (Although, it would also look great with some OTK boots for a more boho feel.) As soon as I put on this outfit, I instantly felt like Blair and Serena, but mostly Blair. Lol!
I decided to pair this minidress with these oversized fishnets because I love any chance I can get to wear some sort of hosiery. I feel like any kind of textured tights & pantyhose are so sassy and, I mean, if you are like me, that fits into your sense of style (& life in general) just perfectly. My philosophy: You just can’t help if you were born with the gene of SASS – might as well embrace it. I’m thinking these thoughts are prob Blair Waldorf-approved. Annnnd, clearly my Chuck Bass doesn’t mind because he put a ring on it! 😉
This outfit was accompanied by the Marc Fisher lace-up heels that I also styled (in a totally different way) in THIS POST. I love these y’all and they are still on sale, which means they will probably start running out of sizes soon. Get them fast if you have had your eye on them! My friend, Rachel, asked me about these after I posted them the first time, ordered them immediately and has now fallen in love as much as I have. This brand is EVERYTHING!!
Now … time for a little #tbt in honor of this Upper East Side style!
Here’s are some of my favorite highlights of the NYC Gossip Girl Tour that my sister and I went on last December. (Lucky for the men in our lives … they got to tag along. THEY LOVED IT. No, I’m kidding, but they were really good sports 😉 ) In all seriousness, if you ever have the time (*emphasis on time* you’ll need it because the tour was like 3 hours) to go be a tourist & see all the GG film sites and inside stories, DO IT. We absolutely loved it! If you followed me on Snapchat (@peyton.baxter) in December of last year, then you have already seen a lot of it because I shared a ton of it that day. It was so fun!
Of course, you must start off a GG tour at the Palace.
Serena and Blair had to take advantage of a photo op on the Met Steps.
TJ & Peyton disguised as Serena and Dan at Constance. 😉 (Sorry for the blurry iPhone pic ha!)
Constance courtyard. This place is actually pretty small in person. They make it look HUGE on television!
Dylan’s Candy Bar was seen in Season 2 of the show when Dan and Vanessa were there looking for an anniversary gift for Nate. (This is when Dan was trying to tell V about his dad and Lily possibly having a kid together.)
Our very own ‘Dan’ and ‘Chuck’ really loved this ‘sweet’ stop on the tour 😉
After the tour guide let us see these signs, I started noticing them allllll over the city. Anytime a show is being filmed in the city, they put up signs like these so that the film crew, etc. has plenty of places to park on the street close to where they are filming.
And of course, what is a GG tour (or even a trip to NYC at Christmas) without some window shopping down 5th Avenue, finishing it off at Henri Bendel and Harry Winston?!
Hope you enjoyed seeing a little something different today on love ‘n’ labels! Let me know in the comments below or send me a message over on my contact page. Thanks for reading, beautiful!
xo,
Peyton
