One thing many brides forget about until the last minute (and sometimes when it is already too late) is what you and your girls are going to wear while getting ready for your Big Day. And then, if your man is like mine, he may even want to surprise his groomsmen with something to wear on the day of the wedding as well!
Ultimately, the options for your glam-time attire are endless, but specifically, I’ve gotten a lot of questions lately about where I got the robes for my girls and me. So, I figured it was the perfect time to dive into this topic during today’s #weddingwednesday post!
Cute hair, Rach 😉 … don’t worry guys, her curls were setting haha I didn’t make her go out there like this!!

As a part of the bridesmaids’ gifts that I gave to my girls at our bridal brunch, I included these gorgeous robes for them to wear while getting ready for the big day. As you know a huge wedding trend these days is having the girls coordinate or match while getting ready on the day of the wedding so that the pictures turn out even better … plus, who wouldn’t feel pampered when you are wearing a nice robe all day while your glam squad makes you feel beautiful?! I searched forever to find the perfect outfits for my girls because in my bridal party, I had regular size women (and many of my friends are even petite, like right at 5-foot), 2 junior bridesmaids who are tiny, and then 3 little flower girls. I came across Wedding Prep Gals and noticed that they made the perfect robes in all adult sizes, plus junior sizes – score! They even offer monogramming and personalization. Many colors are available, but I stuck to my wedding color palette of metallics and went with the champagne color. It was the perfect gold-tone that I was searching for, and the quality of the robes was AMAZING. I personally loved that the sash you tie around was sewn on the back of the robe so that the girls wouldn’t have to worry about the sash moving around constantly and coming untied. The length was perfect. The material was thick. I cannot say enough good things about those robes, and I would highly recommend to anyone wanting this look for their girls!!
For my robe, I could have just gotten a white one from Wedding Prep Gals and personalized it, but I really always had in my mind that I wanted one of the popular Victoria’s Secret robes with ‘BRIDE’ on the back. It was exactly what I was looking for. I will say that the VS white robes are a little thinner than the Wedding Prep Gals robes, so definitely be sure to wear something tan or white underneath it incase you can see through it! All in all, I would choose all of these looks over again if I had the choice. My girls absolutely loved these looks and still wear their robes to this day!
Now, silk or waffle robes are definitely one of the more popular options that brides choose to wear during the day of the wedding, however, there are SO many fun options to choose from. Flannels, button downs, t-shirts, tanks, PJs (love this idea .. I almost did this!), gowns, jerseys, zip-up jackets, tunics, chambray shirts, sweatpants, rompers, sweatshirts, etc. I mean, the options are endless, so I would just recommend choosing whatever you think you and your girls will be comfortable in and whatever will make you all feel beautiful! Also, it kind of personally drove me crazy seeing wedding pics of people in robes or button-downs, etc. and then half of the girls had on leggings with it or half had on tennis shoes and half were barefoot, while some had on flip flops that didn’t match … you get the point! So, I made it really simple and easy. I gave my girls matching flip flops from Old Navy and honestly, it was such a cheap and easy way to look more uniform for pictures, without much effort or chunk out of our budget. One more quick tip .. don’t forget about your Mama’s because the day is special for them too. My mom wanted to wear a button-down so we got her one that she could wear with leggings and I had ‘Mother of the Bride’ embroidered on it!
Teej wanted to feel special on our big day too, haha 🙂 He is precious, you guys! So many times a day, I just sit there and want him to get home so badly so I can just kiss his face off, hug him and never let go, lol! Aww … now I really miss him! Okay, enough with the cheesy stuff .. anyways, he found this site and designed his groomsmen’s tees all on his own. Honestly, the tuxedo shirts were the perfect look for this group of guys. If you can’t tell, TJ and his friends are full of sarcasm, they’re goofy and joking around 24/7, and we even have a friend (who was one of TJ’s best men) who purposefully surprised us with a mullet on our wedding day haha! Needless to say, the guys loved the tees, and it made for some really fun pics.
